Have you checked the fob s battery. From position 1 kl r and 2 run position the. If you ve got a key fob that you have to insert in a slot on your bmw s steering column you might be able to skip this step. If the switch is in the unlocked position this indicates a failed trunk lock which would require it be replaced it may still open in the mean time using the mechanical blade key from inside the key fob but turning this as far as possible in the lock under the lip on the trunk bmw did remove trunk key holes but a 2008 should still have one.
