Bmw 335i Muffler Rattling When Start. So my convertible 335i has had the worst rattle when the top is up ever since i bought the car. Bmw 135i n55 exhaust rattle on cold start duration.
High pressure fuel pump was changed at 72 000 miles. This little sound clip is something maybe some of you have heard but maybe not this is a rattle noise coming from the exhaust system there is a metal spring clip that breaks and causes the metal flap inside the muffler tip to flap around and cause this rattling noise. New turbos coming up soon.
After 2 service appointments where i mentioned this and other issues and they finally tell me the noise is the system operating normally.

It has a muffler delete and there is never a problem with rattles going over bumps but when i 8217 m accelerating and am in the range of 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm there 8217 s a very loud rattle in the rear area of the top sounds like it is right above the rear seats.
